HomeMy WebLinkAboutAppointment to the Streamline Advisory Board Bozeman Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Aimee Brunckhorst, Public Engagement Coordinator Stacy Ulmen CMC, City Clerk SUBJECT: Appointment to the Streamline Advisory Board MEETING DATE: June 22, 2013 MEETING TYPE: Action RECOMMENDATION: I move to appoint [name here] as the city representative to the Streamline/Galavan Advisory Board. BACKGROUND: Through an Interlocal Agreement, the City of Bozeman, Gallatin County and the City of Belgrade created a Public Transit Advisory Board which came to be known as the Streamline Advisory Board. According to the Bylaws the mission of the board is ‘To meet the mobility needs of the greater Bozeman area, hereinafter referred to as “Community” by providing clean, reliable and safe public transportation.’ This board works in an advisory capacity under the governing structure of the Human Resource Development Council District IX (HRDC). The Streamline Advisory Board shall have all the advisory powers necessary and proper to the establishment, operation, improvement, maintenance and administration of Streamline. The membership of the board is made up of thirteen members one of which is a city representative. The city representative is elected by the City Commission and shall be a qualified elector who resides within the boundaries of the Community. Mayor Sean Becker was appointed to this position in February, 2012 with Commissioner Eric Bryson serving prior to that. If the Commission decides not to appoint a Commissioner, the position can be advertised to the public or a member of the staff could be appointed. Terms on this board are for three years with the term expiring July 23rd, 2013. Term limits are set at six years. Board meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the HRDC building, 32 South Tracy. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. 305
