Group discussed that the Library Foundation would be a logical co-host. Meyer will confirm with Beswick and Green Drinks organizers. Group discussed that an outside venue would be preferable. Possibilities might be the Library grounds, Story Mansion, Lindley, and Beal Park. Meyer will reserve a location. 7) Energy Smackdown a) Launching Earth Day, please review the website and test it out. Shafer demonstrated how to use the site and shared updates on recent changes. Andrus pointed out that under “Resources” we need to link back to the building pages from the BCP website. Meyer asked group to please sign up and test the website. 8) Be a Partner a) Kingdon Gould, a student with the Gallatin College Residential Building Performance program, presented his draft proposal for a business partners program (see attached). Gould generally recommended a two-tiered recognition program to engage businesses. The first would require a certain number of voluntary actions from a list and the second would require an audit or other results-based measurement, such as Energy Star Portfolio Manager to benchmark buildings. b) Shafer encouraged group to look at the Lewis & Clark County’s Tri-County Green Business Program as a potential model or partner. This program requires a written environmental statement policy, NorthWestern Energy Audit, and self-assessment of waste stream. c) Group agreed that we need to form a sub-committee to focus on details. This group could continue to meet while Meyer is on maternity leave. We would aim to roll-out the program in the fall. 9) FYI/Discussion a) Compost bin sale, May 11 b) FY 14 budget request includes funding for existing programs, Energy Smackdown, and Energy & Conservation Master Plan. c) Website banner i) Brad Bunkers sent two more banner options to better identify the BCP website. One with the logo from the main CoB website and the other with the City Seal. Group discussed the importance of using the City seal. Shafer quickly designed a mockup with the City Seal presented as a white watermark in the upper right above the search box. The white matches the logo lines in the center of the banner. Group agreed that this would be the best approach. Meyer will follow-up with Brad. d) Working Group Structure i) Over the summer, Meyer will be working on a draft proposal for a permanent sustainability council to continue the work of the Bozeman Climate Partners and all other city sustainability programs. 10) Next Meeting: Wednesday, May 15, 2013
