SUBJECT: 2013 Water Renovations Project Fire Hydrant Easement

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to sign the Fire Hydrant Easement
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the Fire Hydrant Easement for the above referenced project. Currently the closest hydrant to the intersection of 7th and Mendenhall is one block
away. Since the water main is being replaced, we felt it would important to add a hydrant at this
location to increase the fire protection for the area. There is not adequate right of way to install
the hydrant without and easement. Engineering staff has reviewed the document and found it to
be acceptable.
