Anders is particularly interested in the point of diminishing returns when it comes to energy efficiency and homes. ii) The forum is made up of a team of local professionals who are on-call to answer questions related to building design, construction, and retrofits. iii) The website name is evolving. They started with askkermit.org, but are considering other options. They would like us to consider some ideas that would help send the right message. iv) Group suggested that “ask” and “home/house” should be central to the name. Suggestions included “Better Building Answers”, “Building Answers”, and “Save Green”. v) Group decided that everyone should email Natalie 1-2 ideas for names vi) Paula suggested the forum and Bozeman Climate Partners could be featured on the May library bulletin board. vii) Kristen suggested that NECO students need projects and they might be able to assist. b) Energy Smackdown website tour, Jon Shafer, Northern Rocky Mtn. RC&D i) Jon showed the group the latest on the Energy Smackdown website, including how to take the pledge, register, and enter utility bills. ii) We are still looking for sharp images to include on the website that are mildly amusing and fit with the “smackdown” theme. iii) For monthly stories and prizes, Ben suggested that we use online voting to select the winning story. Great way to engage. c) Pecha Kucha Climate Change in MT presentation, Nick Bentley i) Nick was not present at the meeting, but group discussed that his presentation was very well-done. Ben urges us to consider doing another presentation down the road that focuses on one aspect of our local climate change efforts. 5) Outreach & Upcoming Events a) February- i) Idle Free Bozeman Hyalite Movie Night, Feb 15 ii) DEQ Innovations in Energy Efficient Construction, Feb 16 iii) Forward on Climate Rally, Feb 17 iv) Inter-neighborhood Council (INC)-unscheduled b) March- i) Idle Free Irving Presentation, Mar 4 ii) Chasing Ice Screening, Mar 6 (1) Correction! March 7th. Kristen volunteered to help with matinee; Kathy will help with evening show. iii) SWMBIA Home Show, Mar 23-34 (1) Details and volunteer times will go out to the group. We want to be sure to have the booth staffed during high-traffic periods. c) April i) Gallatin Earth Celebration (1) Lots of events planned, but City is primarily responsible for Clean Up Day and Sustainability Fair. We should definitely have a booth at this event and other events throughout the month. 6) Website a) Under events, need to include the date of the event in the title because the blog format can be confusing. It lists the time of posting, which can easily be interpreted as the time of the event. 7) Display Board a) Natalie needs to develop an instruction guide for users. The display could use an additional piece of support metal to keep it from tipping over. We also need a carrying case and/or luggage carrier on wheels to help with transport. Natalie has been shopping for carrying cases, but has not found one that will safely support the weight. b) The metal still easily rusts and scratches even with the anti-rust coat. Ben suggested that we have it textured. 8) Next Meeting: Wednesday, March 20, 2013 a) Meeting adjourned at 10:45am
