HomeMy WebLinkAboutApprove Resolution 4432, Change Order 1 with Lutey Construction for Water Building Renovation Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: James Goehrung, Superintendent of Facility Services Chuck Winn, Assistant City Manager SUBJECT: Approve Resolution #4432 authorizing the City Manager to sign Change Order #01, for the Renovation of the Water Department Building in Laurel Glen Subdivision. The Change Orders for this resolution is for the dollar amount of $442.99. MEETING DATE: March 18, 2013 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution #4432 authorizing the City Manger to sign Change Order #1, for the Renovation of the Water Department Building in Laurel Glen Subdivision in the amount of: Change Order #1, is for the installation of the phone and data wiring connections for the break room, $442.99. SUGGESTED MOTION: Authorize the City Manager to sign Change Order #1 for the Renovation of the Laurel Glen Building in the amount of $442.99. BACKGROUND: When it came time to install the conduit, outlets, cable and restring the coax cable in the building, Facilities worked with the IT Department and they said that the best approach might be to have the project electrician install the cabling and components rather than hire a separate contractor to do the work. Staff talked to the Contractor and the Electrical Subcontractor agreed to install the needed phone and data connections on the project in the break room area. Pg 1 65 UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None at this time. Staff conducted the final walk through on the project in early March and work on the renovation is complete. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. FISCAL EFFECTS: The costs associated with the items in these Change Orders will be paid out of the project fund. Pg 2 Attachments: Change Order Form #01 Change Order Resolution #4432 Report compiled on: March 5, 2013 66 Page 1 of 2 COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4432 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, APPROVING ALTERATION/MODIFICATION OF CONTRACT WITH LUTEY CONSTRUCTION, BOZEMAN, MONTANA. WHEREAS, the City Commission did, on the 5th day of November 2012, authorize award of the bid for the Renovation of the Water Department Building in the Laurel Glen Subdivision, Bozeman, Montana; and WHEREAS, Section 7-5-4308, Montana Code Annotated, provides that any such alterations or modifications of the specifications and/or plans of the contract be made by resolution; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the prosecution of the work to make alterations or modifications to the specifications and/or plans of the contract. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, that the proposed modifications and/or alterations to the contract between the City of Bozeman, a municipal corporation, and Lutey Construction, Bozeman, Montana, as contained in Change Order 01, attached hereto, be and the same are hereby approved; and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract change order for and on behalf of the City; and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to attest such signature.
