MEETING DATE: March 4, 2013 AGENDA TYPE: Action RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one new member to the Cemetery Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: We currently have one vacancy on the Cemetery Board due to a recent
resignation. This term has an expiration date of December 31, 2013. Two applicants are interested in serving. The Board reviewed the applications during their February, 2013 meeting
and would like to recommend the appointment of Jason Donin to the Board.
According to Bozeman Municipal Code Section 2.05.660 – Composition.
There is created a cemetery board consisting of seven members to be appointed by the City Commission for three year staggered terms. Should a vacancy occur on the board, the city
commission shall appoint a new member to complete the term of appointment so vacated. A
majority of the members shall be residents of the City, and whenever practicable one member
shall be a representative of an active recognized veteran’s group.
Section 2.05.670. – Organization. The cemetery board shall serve as an advisory board to both the city commission and city
administration and, as such, shall be charged with making such investigation and
recommendations as requested or deemed necessary for the operation of the cemetery and as
required in this division.
There is one vacancy and two applicants.
