HomeMy WebLinkAboutSunset Hill Cemetery Advisory Board Ethics and Procedures SUNSET HILL CEMETERY ADVISORY BOARD BOARD ETHICS AND PROCEDURES As a member of the Sunset Hills Cemetery Advisory Board, representing all the residents of our community, I recognize that: 1. 1 have been entrusted to assist the City in providing assistance and guidance to the Sunset Hills Cemetery. 2. These services and facilities should be available to all residents regardless of age, gender, race, religion, national origin, economic condition, physical or mental limitation. 3. The board recommends policy, the City Commission adopts policy, and City Staff is responsible for administering these policies. 4. 1 will encourage all residents to express their opinions so I may be properly informed prior to making my decisions. I will make them based solely upon the facts available to me. 5. 1 must devote the time, study and thought necessary to carry out my duties, this includes attending the annual Ethics Training required of all board members. 6. While honest differences of opinion may develop, I will work harmoniously with other Board members to help develop the services and facilities the residents require. I will support the final decision of the Board. 7. The board shall elect from its members a Chair and Pro Tern Chair at the first regular meeting of each calendar year. The Chair shall preside over meetings with the Pro Tern Chair presiding over the meetings in the Chairs absence. 8. Outside of the Board meetings I will take care to communicate the distinction between those opinions which are my own, and stated policy of the Board, 9. 1 will refrain from speculating publicly on the potential outcome of future Board action. 10. All Board meetings should be open to the public except as provided by law. As such,, these meeting will be held in a public meeting place and take place at a prescribed date and time. Currently the regular meetings are held at the Lindley Center, 1102 West Curtiss Street on the second Thursday of the second month of the quarter at 1:00pm. Any deviation from this schedule or venue must be well and clearly noticed in the media. Adopted August 26, 2010
