HomeMy WebLinkAboutCTEP Specific Project Agreement with MDT Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Dustin Johnson, Project Engineer Rick Hixson, City Engineer SUBJECT: CTEP Project Agreement with MDT MEETING DATE: January 7, 2013 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Authorize Mayor to sign Community Transportation Enhancement Program (CTEP) project agreement with the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT). BACKGROUND: Previously the City Commission adopted the CTEP prioritized projects with the acceptance of the CTEP Capital Improvements Projects (CIP). The projects listed in the CIP included various sections of missing sidewalks and missing accessible curbs. Staff has applied for a total of nine projects within Bozeman that are eligible for CTEP funding as identified in the CIP plan. The attached contract identifies the projects, the proposed funding, and responsibilities of the City, contractor, and MDT. City legal staff has reviewed this agreement and finds it to be acceptable. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. FISCAL EFFECTS: The total project cost is estimated to be $337,000. $291,775 will be CTEP funds, and $45,225 will be the required local match. City staff will manage this project with as much in house resources as possible to keep costs down and utilize in kind matches eligible for this project. The City of Bozeman has tracked all CTEP allocations and has adequate funds to cover any necessary local match funds.
