Request for Qualifications
Bozeman Swim Center Lighting and Main Pump Upgrade Project
Sealed Requests for Qualifications will be received by the Bozeman City Clerk's Office,
Bozeman, Montana, at the office in City Hall, 121 North Rouse, Avenue Bozeman, Montana,
until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at which time the Requests for Qualifications will be
publicly opened at the City Hall before the City Clerk Sealed Requests for Qualifications so
entitled should be addressed to the City Clerk.

The City of Bozeman is seeking project specific proposals from qualified firms for engineering services
for Bozeman Swim Center lighting and main pool pump improvements.
The proposed scope of engineering services is as follows:
Equipment Upgrade
Replace the existing lighting in the natatorium. The current system is 8’ T12 HPO light fixtures
that will be replaced with metal halide, or similar fixtures, that provide equivalent lighting as
current system, with lower energy consumption. Provide cost estimates for identified
improvements.
Replace the main pool pump. Upgrade from a single pool pump to a dual pump system, upgrade
electrical from 208 V. Three phase to 480 V. Three phase, and provide pump control through a
variable frequency drive. Provide cost estimates for identified improvements.
The City desires to complete the proposed work by August 4, 2010. Proposals must clearly indicate the
firm's anticipated schedule given their staffing, and current and projected work load commitments.
Proposals must clearly identify any elements of the proposed scope of work that would not be provided
by the respondent. Any subcontractors to be used must be identified along with a description of the past
working history between the firms. This information will be used to evaluate the possibility of multiple
contracts/consultants to accomplish the complete scope of work.
Each entity submitting under this notice shall include a provision affirming in writing the
submitting entity will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age,
marital status, national origin, or because of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender
identity or disability in the exercise of contract should it be awarded to that entity. Each entity
submitting under this notice shall also recognize in writing the eventual contract will contain a
provision prohibiting discrimination as described above and this prohibition on discrimination
shall apply to the hiring and treatment of the Contractor’s employees and to all subcontracts.

The City of Bozeman reserves the right to reject any and all Requests, and to waive any
informality in the Requests received.
