INVITATION TO BID
Construction of a building located at 1812 North Rouse, Bozeman, MT
Your firm is invited to submit an offer under seal to the City of Bozeman for Construction of a
Building located at 1812 North Rouse, Bozeman, MT 59715 before 12:30 p.m. local daylight
time on the 11th day of August, 2009. Separate sealed bids for construction of a building located
at 1812 North Rouse, Bozeman, MT will be received by The City of Bozeman, Montana at the
office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 121 North Rouse, Suite No. 102, PO Box 1230, Bozeman,
MT 59771 until 12:30 p.m. local time on August 11th, 2009 and then publicly opened and read
aloud.
Project Description: Approximately 25,200 square foot single story building consisting of
approximately 20,000 square feet of pre-manufactured steel building for maintenance and
vehicle storage, approximately 4000 square feet of office and support spaces, and approximately
1200 square feet for a vehicle wash bay.
Bid Documents for a Stipulated Sum contract may be obtained from the office of the Architect
upon receipt of a refundable deposit, by check or certified check, in the amount of $100.00 for
one set. Refunds will be given for all sets returned, in good condition and unmarked, within ten
(10) business days following the bid opening. Failure to return bid documents within the
specified time or in good condition will result in forfeiture of deposit. Contact Dowling

In addition, the Drawings and Project Manual may also be examined at the following locations:
Bozeman, Butte, Helena, Great Falls, and Billings Plan Exchanges.
There will be a Pre-Bid Conference at the Project Site on July 30, 2009 at 10:00 am.
Interested Contractors are encouraged to attend.
Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum no less than
10 percent of the Bid Amount. Submit AIA document A310 - Bid Bond.
Successful bidders shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials
Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount within
ten (10) days of the award of Contract. Use AIA form A312, listing City of Bozeman as
Obligee.
Insurance as required shall be provided by the successful Bidder(s) and certificate(s) of that
insurance shall be provided.
Each Contractor and any of the Contractor's subcontractors doing work on this project will be
required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI).
Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011,
1805 Prospect, Helena, MT 59604-8011. Information on registration can be obtained by
calling 1-406-444-7734. Contractor is not required to have registered with the DLI prior to
bidding on this project, but must have registered prior to execution of the Construction
Agreement. All laborers and mechanics employed by Contractor or subcontractors in
performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as may be required by the laws
of the City of Bozeman and the State of Montana, and the Federal Government. The Contractor
must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because
of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. All products shall meet the Federal
Department of Transportation's requirements for the American Recovery and Re-Investment Act
(ARRA). Including, but not limited to, the "Buy American" provision.
Project is subject to requirements of Federal Davis Bacon Act and State of Montana prevailing
wage rates. Refer to other bidding requirements described in Document 002113 - Instructions to
Bidders and Document 003100 - Available Project Information.
Submit your offer on the Bid Form provided. Bidders may supplement this form as appropriate.
Your offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 60
days after submission.
The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers. Owner's ability to accept offer
is contingent upon receipt of Federal funding through the American Recovery and Re-Investment
Act (ARRA).
