Dear Mr. Stevenson,
Just prior to the bid date of the Bozeman WiP project seepex received a copy
of the engineering specifications for the chemical feed pumps. These
specifications called out for gland packing for all pumps and Titanium and
EPDM components for the caustic pumps, seepex pointed out to HDR that
mechanical seals should be used for these services and that the materials for
the caustic pumps couid be changed to less costly materials. HDR instructed
seepex to bid as per the specs and that corrections would take place at a later
time.
Shortly after the bid, seepex informed HDR of the expected cost to provide the
pumps with the recommended mechanical seals and materials of construction,
In anticipation of acceptance of the Changes by HDR, seepex provided the
submittals incorporating their recommendations.
To date neither addenda nor change orders have been issued for the
additional cost associated with the submitted scope of supply. Unfortunately,
seepex cannot absorb the additional cost and finds it necessary to re- submit
per their bid day scope and pricing, both of which were based on the original
specfcations.
Regards,
District Manager

Re: BZMN RFI -109 Duct Banks
Nigel, After further review we do not see where we have additional costs for RFI 106 and 109 as stated in the
RM's. There are added, deleted and rerouted conduits that come out to a "push ". There is added cable tray but is
"washed" through deleted items, also.
I am sure you have taken into account that there is added excavation for Apollo.
Sincerely,
Bruce Carter, President
