Website RFP Update
RFP is out!
Meyer sent to a list of 19 people she compiled; E. Baker put it on craigslist, and has seen quite a bit of interest (~10 people, quite a few local).
Website Content
Bentley: presented
work on climate change 101.
Powell suggested highlighting the local connection: glacier np glaciers, Mammouth temperature record.
H. Baker suggested Greg Peterson at MSU could have relevant
studies.
Moore: wants to help on the energy section. Suggested using E3A materials.
We should highlight how the price/ watt of wind energy has fallen from $85 to $1. Now is the time
for wind.
Bentley: Transit section
If group has comments, can see the content on the google doc, and contact nick directly.
Q of biodiesel blends: Meyer said Story Distributing provides,
but supply is somewhat intermittent, and driven by demands of YNP. City demand not enough for them to supply it during the winter.
Sinnott: Utility-Scale renewable energy
Moore: very interested to publicize the answer to the obvious question: where does your energy come from?
Energy Efficient Buildings
General discussion; Moore has many resources and
ideas for this section. Interesting question how we will decide which contractors to list on the site (NWE list? MREA list? Some training technicians must do in order to be listed?)
Other:
add 10% energy reduction challenge, weatherization assistance programs for low-income. HRDC Karen Couch. Home Depot: bulk program.
Food, Water, Waste
Powell presented her outline for
waste and food sections.
E. Baker will do the food section, to split up work load.
Food zone map, how has changed
CSA list on Coop website quite comprehensive.
Water: Meyer talked about
interesting things happening with greywater, and resources with waste reduction.
Moore suggested June 29th as a good goal for content to be mostly done.
Discussion, decided that by
July 3rd meeting, we would like to have content mostly done.
