12/31/2012 The bridge surface and new trail are complete. We are awaiting the completion of the railing before the new bridge and trail can be opened to the public. We ran into some challenges during the bridge
construction which added some unanticipated costs (extra rock and fill were needed, and the railing will have to be extended on one side to
meet building codes). We anticipate completion in December.

10/31/2013 The State is completing their EA and may get us approval for the
easement this fall. With their approval, we will close the easement and begin planning construction for spring 2013.
Sourdough Canyon

12/31/2012 The GVLT Board of Directors has approved transferring the Sourdough Canyon Trailhead property to the US Forest Service. Due
diligence is underway and we expect the transfer to be complete by
year-end.
Parks & Trails
Bond Staff time TPL, City of
Bozeman, user groups 11/6/2012 The City Commission approved a $15 million Parks & Trails Bond for
the November ballot. GVLT staff are actively working on the
campaign to pass the Parks & Trails Bond.

11/30/2012 A new standard layout for GVLT kiosks is being professionally designed and will include our new trail map. Once we finalize the
layout, we will create new kiosk posters for 7 kiosks, 3 of which will be new installations.
Volunteer projects ongoing City of Bozeman, Gallatin County,
MCC, and others
ongoing GVLT has 12 volunteer projects scheduled through November, including several with Big Sky Youth Empowerment and with
Bozeman High School, the cub scouts, and others.

Private donors 11/15/2012 GVLT installed new memorial benches at Snowfill Recreation area and
Triple Tree trail. Another memorial bench will also be installed at Drinking Horse Mountain this fall.
