HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-12-12 Parks report Park Report July 2012 ➢ Crews are busy getting primed for SLAMFEST and Sweet Pea. As always -garbage, dog stations and mowing are keeping the crews busy. We have lost four seasonal employees so the remaining crews are even busier. ➢ Last month's park tour was a success. Next year I believe we add more stops and block out the day, with a bbq afterwards. ➢ PIG projects that are on-going are: the water fountain at Bogert, the ball field improvement at Aasheim, infield renovation at the Complex and re-installing paper towel holders at Christie. ➢ I am meeting with Brit Fontenot, the chamber and the members of the tourism board in regards to financial impacts of bringing in tournaments to Bozeman. ➢ July 23rd, Gary and I will be taking the Bozeman Creek Enhancement Plan (which is the plan he presented this evening) to the Commission for adoption. The RPAB's recommendation will be an important component to our memo. ➢ User groups are using city fields and facilities: Blackhawk baseball at Aasheim Field, The Complex (adult softball), Lerner (summer lacrosse) and Bogert Pavilion has the Farmer's Market every Tuesday through September. ➢ Support the Park Bond -going to commission this Monday. The commission will decide whether to put the measure on the ballot this November. ➢ Mitch Overton starts as Park and Recreation Director July 30th - ➢ Thanks to all of you who stopped by Ron's retirement party last Friday. He told me he had a great time and that we sent him off in style.
