The bridge structure and new trail connections will be constructed in September. The railing will be completed and old trail rehabilitated in November. The new bridge and trail will remain closed until the railing is installed in November. Bozeman Pond/ West Side Connector $19,100 $19,100 City of Bozeman PIG, Recreational Trails Program, REI 10/31/2012 We have secured the easement from the City and the Mall. Using volunteers we removed the fencing surrounding the Mall retention pond and contractors are replacing the fencing closer to the pond. By 9/15, the fence and trail connection should be complete. Triple Tree Easement, Improvements $63,500 $67,000 State of MT, Gallatin County, REI, Recreational Trails Program, private donors 10/31/2013 The State is completing their EA and may get us approval for the easement within a month. With their approval, we will close the easement and begin planning construction for the fall (if possible) or spring 2013. Sourdough Canyon Trailhead ongoing USFS, City of Bozeman, Gallatin County, private landowners, private donors 12/31/2012 The new gate, designed by Ken VanDeWalle was installed and we are preparing to have a grand opening ceremony on September 13. The Forest Service is on track to take the property as a donation from GVLT by the end of the year. Parks & Trails Bond Staff time TPL, City of Bozeman, user groups 11/6/2012 The City Commission approved a $15 million Parks & Trails Bond for the November ballot. GVLT staff are actively working on the campaign to pass the Parks & Trails Bond. Signage updates $6,050 $7,674 Recreational Trails Program, Sweet Pea, PIG, private donors, Dumke Foundation 11/30/2012 A new standard layout for GVLT kiosks is being professionally designed and will include our new trail map. Once we finalize the layout, we will create new kiosk posters for 7 kiosks, 3 of which will be new installations. Volunteer projects ongoing City of Bozeman, Gallatin County, MCC, and others ongoing GVLT has led over 10 volunteer work projects since July, employing more than 70 individuals in weed pulling, trail resurfacing, and other trail projects. We have more volunteer projects scheduled for September and October.
