Members Present: Bill,Jason, Sarah, Rebecca, Sam, Mike, Audrey,Jenna, Nonnie and Elizabeth
Members Absent: None
1. Public Comment
a. None
2. Approval of July Minutes
a. Bill moved to approve minutes, 2nd by Rebecca.
July minutes were unanimously approved
3. BABAB Secretary
a. Bill voiced the need for a new Secretary. Secretary duties include taking notes, highlighting
action items, and recording tasks and who will do said tasks.
b. Sarah agreed to take notes for the August meeting. Audrey volunteered to take minutes for
the September meeting.
c. No action taken on electing a new secretary at this time.
4. Thank you notes from Bike Week.
a. Thank you notes should have gone out a while ago.
ACTION ITEM-all BABAS members-write thank you notes mail by the end of the week.
b. Thank you cards were passed out and board members wrote them at the meeting.
5. Bike Count
a. The 2012 bike count is scheduled for September 11-13 from 5-7pm.
b. The bike count consisted of 12 locations last year, and the board discussed increasing the
number this year. Intersections to add will include:
i. Olive and Willson
ii. Wallace and Main
iii. 8th and Koch
Rebecca has an online sign-up almost ready to send out to volunteers.The board agreed to send
out the volunteer sign-up to the BABAB list first, before asking the folks on the
GVBC listserv. A reminder will be sent out closer to the event.
ACTION ITEM- Rebecca to send out e-mail to the listsery by the end of next week.
c. The board discussed having an optional training available for volunteers who have
questions.This will be held the week before on 2 separate occasions, depending on interest
from volunteers.
ACTION ITEM- Rebecca to contact the Pedestrian Safety Board to inform them of the bike count, and to
see if there is any interest on their end to participate as the pedestrian counters.
ACTION ITEM- Rebecca to invite the City of Bozeman to participate in the bike count.
ACTION ITEM- Elizabeth to make a map of all of the intersections to be covered by the bike count.
6. Bike Friendly Status
a. Rebecca submitted the bike friendly application to the League of American Cyclists!
b. Rebecca suggested that everyone read the application, as there is a lot of great information
in the application.
7. GVBC Newsletter
a. Sam gave an update on the status of putting BABAB news in the GVBC newsletter
periodically. Nothing has been put in to any GVBC newsletters yet, but the bike count would be
a good thing to include in the future.
b. Consensus of the group was that the bike count would be a great piece to include in
a newsletter, with results from last year.
ACTION ITEM- Bill to write a piece about the bike count for GVBC Newsletter
