HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012 Water Renovations Project AdvertisementCITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA C A L L F O R B I D S NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Bozeman, Montana, is accepting sealed bids for: 2012 Water Renovations Project Separate sealed bids for construction of City of Bozeman 2012 Water Renovations Project will be received by the City Clerk at the office of City Hall, 121 North Rouse Ave., P.O. Box 1230, Bozeman, Montana 59771-1230 until 2:00 p.m., local time, July 10, 2012 and then publicly opened and read aloud. Please write the name of the project on the front of the sealed bid. The physical address is: City Clerk’s Office, Suite 200, City Hall, 121 No. Rouse Avenue, Bozeman, Montana. The mailing address is: City Clerk’s Office, Suite 200, City Hall, P.O. Box 1230, Bozeman, Montana 59771. Bids must be received before 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Original copies must be submitted- no faxed or electronic bids will be accepted. Bids will be opened and read following the close of bids. The work includes a base bid and 3 additive alternates. The base bid generally involves replacement of existing mains, valves, fittings and appurtenances in the intersections of Black/College, Black/Garfield, Black/Tracy, Black/Black Cul-de-sac, and installation of approximately 140 lineal feet of new main in Harrision Avenue. The intersection work involves mains ranging in size from 6” to 24”. Service reinstatement is also included in the base bid. Alternate one involves replacement of existing mains with the installation of approximately 465 LF of 8” ductile iron water main and appurtenances on Peach Street. Alternate two involves replacement of existing mains with the installation of approximately 515 LF of 8” ductile iron water main and appurtenances on East Aspen Street and North Church Avenue. Alternate three involves replacement of existing mains with the installation of approximately 1076 LF of 8” ductile iron water main and appurtenances on Bryant Street and Gold Avenue. The Contract Documents may be examined or obtained at the office of the City of Bozeman Engineering Department, 20 East Olive Street, Bozeman, Montana 59771-1230, 406-582-2280, in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders. Required deposit is $50.00 per set, which is not refundable. There will be a Pre-Bid Conference at the office of the City of Bozeman Engineering Department at 10:00 a.m. on June 28, 2012. Interested CONTRACTORS are encouraged to attend. CONTRACTOR and any of the CONTRACTOR’S subcontractors doing work on this project will be required to obtain registration with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). Forms for registration are available from the Department of Labor and Industry, P.O. Box 8011, 1805 Prospect, Helena, Montana 59604-8011. Information on registration can be obtained by calling 1-406-444-7734. CONTRACTOR is not required to have registered with the DLI prior to bidding on this project, but must have registered prior to execution of the Construction Agreement. All laborers and mechanics employed by CONTRACTOR or subcontractors in performance of the construction work shall be paid wages at rates as may be required by the laws of Gallatin County and the state of Montana. Discrimination in the performance of any contract awarded under this invitation on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, marital status, national origin, or actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity or disability is prohibited.  This prohibition shall apply to the hiring and treatment of the awarded entity’s employees and to all subcontracts. Every entity submitting under this invitation must sign and return the required affirmation. Every person or entity holding a special fuel permit issued pursuant to Title 15, chapter 70, part 3, MCA, from the State of Montana who submits a bid under this project shall list that person’s or entity’s fuel user’s permit number in the bid form and on the face of the envelope. A bid without the permit number may not be accepted. Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier’s Check, or Bid Bond payable to the City of Bozeman, Montana, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Successful BIDDERS, shall furnish an approved Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance as required shall be provided by the successful BIDDER(s) and a certificate(s) of that insurance shall be provided. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled time for the public opening of bids, which is at 2:00 p.m. local time, July 10, 2012. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period of not to exceed sixty (60) days, and to accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid which is in the best interest of the OWNER.
