HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2287 Amendment to the 1972 Bozeman Area Master Plan: 12-17-80 (2) . -~..- -- -.- _ _. ._._~~ _. _._._... ~.~_ .~... n _..~.. __.....___....~_._.__.~..~......... - -- - - .. - - ~- - ., "312 COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO.. 2287 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE 1972 BOZEMAN AREA MASTER PLAN WHEREAS, the Bozeman Area Master Plan was adopted by the Board of City Commissioners in 1972 as a desirable, logical, and timely plan for the future development of the City of I Bozeman, State of Montana, and its planning environs; and WHEREAS, the Bozeman Area Master Plan has been developed in accordance with the desires and needs of the residents of Bozeman and its related planning areas as expressed through citizen study groups and advisory committees, special surveys, and public hearings; and WHEREAS, the Bozeman City-County Planning Board acting as an advisory body to the City Commission in matters related to planning and land use, has prepared and recommended for adoption, the Bozeman Area Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the Bozeman Area Master Plan is recognized as the official development policy guide to ensure rational and orderly development of the City of Bozeman and its planning environs; and WHEREAS, future growth and development in Bozeman and its related planning environs may necessitate amendments to the Master Plan and those amendments should be provided for only after the City-County Planning Board has conducted a thorough review and analysis of the pro- posed amendment; and WHEREAS, the City-County Planning Board has held a public meeting to hear and receive public comment on this proposed amendment to the Master Plan prior to making recommendations I to the City Commission for official adoption; and WHEREAS, the City Commission shall consider at a public meeting, recommendations from the City-County Planning Board pertaining to proposed amendments to the Bozeman Area Master Plan, but shall not be bound, in any way, to such recommendations; and WHEREAS, the City Commission may adopt, through official resolution, the proposed amendment to the Bozeman Area Master Plan if it deems necessary after receiving the recommendations from the Bozeman City-County Planning Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CO~1MISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, MONTANA: The 1972 Bozeman Area Master Plan is hereby amended, as requested by Virgil Jahnke, to reflect the following: 1- Deletion of the "Agricultural" Land Use designation within a portion of the W~ of Section 10 and E~ of Section 9, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., Gallatin County, Montana. 2. a. Establishment of a "Research Technology" designation, totaling approximately fifty (50) acres, in the S~ SW~ of Section 10, T2S, R5E, M.P.M. north of and adjacent to U. S. Highway #191 between Ferguson and Cottonwood Road. (See Exhi bit "A") I b. Establishment of a "Medium Density Residential" designation totalling approxi- mately ninety-two (92) acres, in a portion of the N~SW~ of Section 10, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., south of Babcock Road and west of Ferguson Road as well as east of Cottonwood Road. (See Exhibit "A") c. Establishment of a "Public" designation, totaling approximately thirteen (13) acres, in a portion of the N~SW~ of Section 10, T2S, R5E, M.P.~1., south of Babcock Road, including drainage system. (See Exhi bit itA") d. Establishment of a "Neighborhood Commercial" designation, totaling approxi- mately five (5) acres, in a portion of the NW~ SW~ of Section 10, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., south of Babcock Road and east of Cottonwood Road. Establishment of a "Low Density Residential" designation, totaling approximately eighty-six (86) acres, in a portion of the NW~ of Section 10, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., north of Babcock Road between'Ferguson Road and Cottonwood Road. (See Exhibit "A") f. Establishment of a "Highway Commercial II designation, totaling approximately twenty-five (25) acres, in a portion of the N~ NW~ NW~ of Section 10, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., south of Durston Road and east of Cottonwood Road. (See Exhibit "A") I g. Establishment of a "Public" designation, totaling approximately ten (10) acres, in a portion of the W~ NW~ of Section 10, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., centrally located between Cottonwood Road and Babcock Road, including the drainage system. (See Exhibit "A") h. Establishment of a "Medium Density Residential" designation totaling approxi- mately twenty-five (25) acres, in a portion of the N~ NE~ NW~ of Section 10, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., south of Durston Road and west of Ferguson Road. (See Exhibit "A") i . Establishment of a "Medium Density Residential" designation, totaling approxi- mately forty-five (45) acres, in a portion of the SE~ SE~ of Section 9, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., north of U. S. Highway #191 and west of Cottonwood Road. (See Exhibit "A") j. Establishment of a "Medium Density Residential" designation, totaling approximately one hundred sixty-four (164) acres, in a portion of the N~ of Section 9, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., between Durston Road and Babcock Road and west of Cottonwood Road as well as south of Durston Road centrally located between Gooch Hill and Cottonwood Road. (See Exhibit "A") k. Establishment of a "Public" designation, totaling approximately ten (10) acres, in a portion of the NW~ NE~ of Section 9, T2S, R5E, M.P.M., south of Durston Road including the drainage system. (See Exhibit "A") 3. a. All future Technical-Research, Neighborhood, and Highway Business Commercial zoning districts shall contain an attached "T" (Transitional) district classification. The "T" classification is intended to insure that all development will foster a high quality of site and building design, maximum neighborhood compatibility, and an asthetically pleasing entryway into the City of Bozeman. b. Establishment of a "Community Arterial Street" status and a designation for the I extension of Cottonwood Road extending north from its present terminus at U. S. Highway #191 to Durston Road along the eastern boundary line of Section 9. c. Establishment of a IIprimary Arterial Street" status for both Durston Road and Babcock Road,.is to be extended westward from its present terminus at Ferguson Road through the proposed development to its western boundary. Section 2 This resolution shall be in force and effect until further order of this Board.
