Maintenance Presentation and 81h Street Update:
North 7`h Median (Non) Maintenance Presentation:
Medians approved if City keeps up with maintenance. Maintenance has
severely lapsed. City does not have time to provide, will have to contract out
if no one steps up to help. Currently getting estimates for clean-up but no
extended contract confirmed. Future in undetermined! Need something
easily maintained. Could discuss option to plant something other trees and
grass but maintenance by this board or other volunteers is difficult. CoB and
MDT would prefer grass and if we (the BBB) would like to do more, the
CoB would request more involvement. John would like to see
more...including a plan? Highland is an example of native grass, which
could be an option? Sculptures?
Allyson requested that a landscaping company give us a "maintenance-free"
option? Or, could we donate time to get something started or be involved in
a temporary fix and then pass on the responsibility to 7`h Street Urban
Renewal to take over at that time? A viable idea could be to plant grass and
trees (with the tree cost-sharing program) and ask 7`h Street Urban Renewal
for the difference if needed? John seemed confident that this is an option

and that the CoB could handle most of the cost. General recommendation
from the BBB is grass and trees. Hope to do it in the Fall? John will keep us
updated on: MDT allowing trees, cost shortage, and approximate timeline on
completion.
South 8`''update:
Pave next week. Median is 9'wide and plans for medians include grass and
trees. Allyson mentions that neighbors have shown interest in getting
involved;i.e. lighting, and more? Retired landscape designer has also been in
discussions with John. John mentions that South 8`''is a"state-funded, city
street."
Additional idea: Look for BBB members with landscaping background to
assist with some of these programs
