COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2273
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA
ADOPTING AN ENERGY CONSERVATION POLICY FOR THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA
WHEREAS, it has become apparent throughout the nation that the citizens of the United

States are faced
with energy shortages of considerable magnitude; and
WHEREAS, said energy shortages have been recognized by Federal and State leaders, and
WHEREAS, energy costs to all sectors continue to rise at an unprecented rate and are
expected to
increase even more dramatically in the future; and
WHEREAS, existing fossil fuel reserves are limited and being depleted faster than new
sources of energy
are being developed; and
WHEREAS, it being a proven, sound, economical, ecological and sociological practice to
incorporate
energy conservation measures and to utilize sustainable energy sources wherever possible;
and
WHEREAS, it being in the best interest of the citizens of Bozeman, Montana:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA:
That the policy of the City of Bozeman shall be to exemplify and foster wise energy use,
particularly
conservation measures, and the utilization of sustainable energy sources.
ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozemany .at a regular and stated session of
said City Commission,
held on the 26th day of November, 1980./'
