RECOMMENDATION: Reappoint or appoint two applicants to the Tree Advisory Board.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to appoint [2 applicants] to the Tree Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: The Tree Advisory Board has two terms which expired June 30th. Both
members have reapplied and one new application has been received.
The Tree Advisory Board is created under Ordinance No. 1364, adopted by the City Commission
on April 26, 1993, as codified in Chapter 2.92 of the Bozeman Municipal Code. The Board is comprised of five members appointed by the City Commission, serving staggered two-year
terms.
Whenever possible, two of the members shall be from the following disciplines: real estate,
commercial lending, civil or environmental engineering, or landscape architecture or construction.
Members shall be residents of the City, own property within the City, or be gainfully employed
within the City.
The Board is advisory to the Commission, providing guidance and advice regarding the City's
tree program and developing a proposed arboricultural specification manual and any needed
revisions.
The Tree Advisory Board currently has two expired terms, two reapplying members and one new applicant.

many years and widh to continue serving our community. I am very familiar with the workings of the
board, its history and the current goals. I have 2 degrees in horticulture and landscape design and have
32 years of professional experience in the Bozeman area.

The Bozeman City Charter voted in by the citizens of Bozeman in 2008 requires yearly ethics training. If

Is there any other information you feel may be relevant to your application?: we have sometimes had
difficulty keeping board members and filling board positions. I am happy and interested in continuing to
serve, but if there are other members of the community wishing for an opportunity to serve on this
board I would be happy to support that.

Consulting Arborist and owner of a tree service. I have written Community Forest Management Plans
including one for Dillon, Mt and one for Anaconda, MT. I would like to have a positive role in the health
of the community forest in Bozeman in whatever way I can. Bozeman has a breath taking urban forest
and would like to be involved.
