Becker Deputy Mayor Jeff Krauss Commissioners Cyndy Andrus Chris Mehl Carson Taylor June 21, 2012 Steve Bullock, Attorney General State of Montana P.O. Box 201401 Helena, MT 59620 Mr. Bullock, The City of Bozeman writes today urging your reconsideration of the Mortgage Foreclosure Misconduct Settlement plan for Montana. To wit, we ask that you partner with the City and HRDC in their existing housing and foreclosure efforts. For over seven years, the City has funded this effort with General Fund dollars, in partnership with the HRDC. Your current plan has the great majority of resources going to a Great Falls group to open a local office. The proposed action is a duplication of efforts. The City recently adopted a new affordable housing action plan, relying on the HRDC as its primary partner in the plan’s implementation. The City requests that your office join our established initiatives to assist families facing foreclosure. By joining our efforts families will be best served. Therefore, the City requests that you partner with our local efforts in accomplishing our shared responsibilities. We can assure you that your office will be well served by our local HRDC, just as we have been for nearly 40 years. Sincerely, Sean A.
