The City Commission confirms approval of the appointment through motion and vote. RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to approve the appointment by Mayor Becker of Kelly Dean Wiseman to the Parking Commission with a term beginning July 1st. BACKGROUND: Lisa Danzl-Scott’s term on the Parking Commission expires June 30th and she does not wish to reapply. Chris Pope has resigned from the Parking Commission. One new applicant has applied. The Bozeman Parking Commission is responsible for managing and regulating public parking in the City's Parking Districts to best serve the needs of its customers: businesses, residents, employees, and visitors. The public parking garage in the city center is also under their authority. The Parking Commission was created under Section 7-14-46, M.C.A., and Commission Resolution No. 1676, adopted by the City Commission on May 8, 1974, as amended by Commission Resolution No. 1839, adopted by the City Commission on November 24, 1976, and Commission Resolution No. 3803, adopted by the City Commission on June 6, 2005. The Parking Commission is a seven-member administrative board and also advises the Commission regarding parking and fines in the "B-3" zoned area of the city. Under statutory provisions, members of the board are appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Commission, to staggered four-year terms. In the past, every effort has been made to appoint business people who have been assessed for SID No. 565, which provided the funding for the four off-street parking lots over which the Parking Commission has control. The Parking Commission will have two vacancies as of June 30th and one new applicant. 219 New Applicant: Kelly Dean Wiseman ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
