HomeMy WebLinkAboutGallatin Earth Day Celebration Thank You letters from Mayor arth e celebration May 18, 2012 Dear Cathy We would like to thank you and the League of Women Voters for being a part of Clean Up Day this April. We thank you for participating, and for your generous donation to support the event. You're part of a grand tradition of service and sustainability in our community. Bozeman community groups and citizens have removed thousands of tons of trash from streets and parks, since the first event in 1989. It wouldn't be the same without your participation. Clean Up Day is at the heart of the Gallatin Earth Celebration, a weeklong Earth Day celebration focused on education, outreach, and service. Though the GEC emerged from the traditional "Bozeman Clean-up Day", it has grown into a larger partnership between Montana State University, the City of Bozeman, local businesses and organizations, and independent citizens. The overarching goal of the GEC is to inspire environmental stewardship and pride of place by bringing community members together to clean-up our neighborhoods, learn what is happening in our region to advance sustainability, and get involved in making Bozeman the best it can be. We hope you will continue to be involved with the Sustainability Fair in the future, and invite your ideas about how to make the GEC even better in 2013. Again, thank you for participating in the 2012 Sustainability Fair at Clean Up Day. We hope you will continue to be involved with Clean Up Day in the future, and invite your ideas about how to make the GEC as a whole even better in 2013. Again, thank you for your work organizing Clean Up Day 2012, Sincerely, Sean Becker Nta ke Meyer Mayor, City of Bozeman Climate Protection Coordinator, City of Bozeman Emily Baker AmeriCorps Member, City of Bozeman Gallatin Earth Celebration City of Bozeman P.O. The city greatly values your participation, and generous donation to the event. It wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable without you. You're part of a grand tradition of service and sustainability in our community. Bozeman community groups and citizens have removed thousands of tons of trash from streets and parks, since the first event in 1989. It wouldn't be the same without your participation.
