Review of Structural Engineers opinions. Our review of DCI's email dated March 5, 2009 from Mark Aden and Carl Walkers email dated March 4, 2009 from Rob McConnell is as follows. I. DCI is the Structural Engineer of Record and his recommendations should be followed. 2. We agree with DCI (second paragraph of email)that DCI is fine with epoxy grouting the crack and watching it for one year. 3. We agree with Carl Walker that stitching the slab together at the crack would move the crack to a new location. 4. We disagree with Carl Walker's statement that the rebar has yielded. 5. We agree with Carl Walker that if a repair is required,it should be a slip joint design. But we agree with DCI that it should be watched for a one year life cycle of the garage. It is Martel Construction's intent to epoxy repair the crack per DCI's email dated 3/5/09. We are not stitching the crack per Carl Walkers report on 3/4/09. Martel Construction will continue to monitor and epoxy repair the concrete cracks for a period of two years per the Structural Design drawing notes by DCI. We see know issues regarding the crack that should keep the garage from opening. The inverse is actually true. We need to see cars loading the slabs and watch and observe the two engineers opinions. If you have any questions, please contact me. Sincerely, Ma of strucdon, Inc. Ton Martel COMMERCIAL RESIDENTIAL INSTITUTIONAL INDUSTRIAL
