The boards that are simply advisory do not need a motion made to assign a Commissioner, just a consensus on who should serve on that board. Several boards however have positions which require a motion of appointment to be made since these positions are as voting members rather than liaisons. City Commissioners attend a majority of meetings of the advisory board they liaison acting as a conduit between the board and the Commission. Liaisons do not vote on the board. City Commissioners appointed as voting board members are considered full members of the board with all associated voting and participation responsibilities. As a member of a particular board, Commissioners vote in their capacity as a board member not as a Commission member. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. Attachment: List of Boards needing liaisons with past liaisons listed and meeting schedules. 200 Advisory Board Liaisons and Voting Commission Members – 2010-2011 As of 2-9-10 Click the name of the board for a link to a board description Audit Committee (two voting Commissioner members): Mayor Krauss and Deputy Mayor Becker • Meets as needed at least once a year.
