Box 1230 - Bozeman, MT - 59771 Minutes of the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board (RPAB) December 8, 2011 Meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by William VandenBos. Minutes: November 2011 minutes were unanimously approved Open Public Comment: Gary Wienner with the US Forest Service discussed the Bozeman Creek enhancement project and wants to bring a plan to the RPAB for approval at a future meeting. He (and the consortium) will likely be applying for a PIG to help with the enhancement project. Expiring Board Members: William VandenBos mentioned the status of the following RPAB members with respect to renewing: Betty Strook, unknown; Julie Zickovich, yes; Tawnya Storm, yes; Christopher Guy, no. David Cook mentioned that he would like to know the requirements for attendance. If there are no requirements, he would like the RPAB to work on an attendance policy that describes the attendance requirements to maintain RPAB member status. RPAB Officer Nominating Committee for 2012: Jared Nelson will be working on nominating officers. William VandenBos mentioned that he will not be running for chair in 2012. Bob Wade and Sandy Dodge agreed to help with the nomination committee. Tree and Parks Walk (Shelly Engler): Not present Parkland and Schools (David Cook and Sandy Dodge): Sandy Dodge gave a brief report on the School Trustee/City Commission joint meeting he and David Cook attended. The meeting covered a variety of topics including: tax increment finance district, safe routes to schools, and future schools. Sandy Dodge spoke at the joint meeting with respect to park and recreation use of school property. Gallatin Valley Land Trust Update: Nobody present from GVLT Recreation Division Report (Jamie Saitta): See attachment Parks Division Report (Doug Eisenman): The Parks Division has been working on the ice rinks, closing bathrooms, painting the warming room at Southside Park, and getting other items ready for winter. Parks and Recreation Director's Report (Thom White): Not present City Commissioner Perspective (Sean Becker): Not present Meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
