A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, ESTABLISHING TIME
LIMITS WITHIN WHICH CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARINGS
MAY BE HELD.
WHEREAS, the Bozeman City Commission holds public
hearings from time to time in accordance with applicable
laws and ordinances as well as on its own motion; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has decided to establish a
maximum time limit for those public hearings that are open
and continued for hearing at a later time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA:
Section 1
Continued Hearings To Be Held Within One Year.
Any public hearing that is opened by the Bozeman City
Commission at the advertised time and continued until a
later time for a full hearing or additional testimony shall
be completed within one year of the date of continuance.
Section 2
Request for Extension.
Any member of the Commission, petitioner for or
principal involved in the subject matter of the hearing may
request an additional extension for a period of time not to
exceed six months. Unless requested by a member of the
Commission, such requests shall be in writing. All requests
shall be received by the Clerk of the City Commission at
least fifteen days prior to the expiration of the initial
one year period. In addition, all requests shall be
accompanied by an explanation of the project's status and
the reason for the request.

Section 3
Granting of Extension.
If, after consideration, the City Commission finds that
granting the request is in the best interest of the City,
the Commission may extend the time within which the public
hearing shall be held for an additional maximum period of
six months from the expiration of the initial one year
period.
ADOPTED by the Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, at a regular and stated session of said Commission
held on the

day of April, 1985.
