HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2565 Endorsing implementation of industrial pretreatment program: 7-22-85 COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2565 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, ENDORSING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN INDUSTRIAL WASTE WATER PRETREATMENT PROGRAM FOR THE PUBLICLY OWNED TREATMENT WORKS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA. WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has the duty and desire to protect the public health, safety and welfare; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman has the authority to implement uniform re- quirements for dischargers into the waste water collection and treatment systems in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws relating thereto; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman determines the need to prevent the intro- duction of pollutants into the waste water treatment system which will interfere with the operation of the system or contaminate the resulting sludge; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman determines the need to prevent the intro- duction of pollutants into the waste water system which will pass through the system, inadequately treated into receiving waters or the atmosphere or otherwise be incompatible with the system; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman desires to improve the opportunity to re- cycle and reclaim waste waters and sludges from the system; and ... WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman desires to provide for equitable dis- tribution among users of the cost of the Publicly Owned Pretreatment Works waste water system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Bozeman endorses the implementation of an industrial pretreatment program in accordance with all applicable State and Federal laws required by The Federal Water Pollution Control Act (FWPCA, P.L. 92-500). as amended by The Clean Water Act of 1977, P.L. 95-217, and the general Pretreatment Regulations (40 CFR, Part 403). PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, this 22nd day of July 1985.
