• Jim presented the LaProwse Invitational Wrestling Tournament Grant. The grant request was signed by
Randy Russel of Bozeman Schools for $5350 to move the event to the Brick Breedon Fieldhouse at MSU.
This would allow Bozeman to invite all of the Junior Varsity Wrestlers and greatly increase the amount of
overnights stay in Bozeman. Carl made a motion to approve and Larry seconded. All were in favor.
• Jim discussed an upcoming soccer tournament grant application that would be used help the Bozeman Blitz
bring the State Showcase Soccer Tournament to Bozeman for the first time. It would bring over 700
players and coaches from around the state in late June of 2012. There was significant conversation about
the need for a soccer tournament in Bozeman. Other types of soccer tournaments were discussed. The
budget and spending were a significant topic.
• There was a discussion about how host hotels and TBID hotels would be represented during TBID
sponsored events. It was agreed that the host hotels should always have a primary listing on event
websites.
• Jim gave a summary report of the Connect one-on-one sale event in Chicago put on by Collinson Media.
Meetings took place with 20+ meeting planners and it seemed very production. Follow up is in progress
and some RFP's are developing. Since this format allows for more qualified appointments, it was
reported that this may be a better technique than straight up exhibiting events. There was discussion of
how hotels could report if they received an event from this or similar efforts.
• Doug Wales gave a presentation on the merits of partnering with Bridger Bowl on leisure advertising
efforts. There was plenty of discussion. There were questions concerning the Powder Hound package,
current Bridger commission structures and other ways to promote Bozeman. The need to promote
Bozeman as a ski town was evident.
• Jim discussed how some previously approved winter leisure dollars would be used in a Frontier Airlines in
flight magazine at the cost of$5000.

• Jim discussed the upcoming state coop opportunity with madden media and how the TBID could team up
with Bridger to leverage marketing dollars. National Geographic Explorer was mentioned as a potential
upcoming marketing option. Options of partnering with the CVB were discussed.
• The meeting was adjourned by Vice Chair Andrew Ash at 2:05
