➢ Monday night the Commission will hopefully adopt the budget for this
year. I believe there will be quite a bit of conversation regarding
cuts/funding in the general fund. I have had conversations with
commissioners regarding funding the PIG program this year.
Currently, we have a few lingering projects, (less then 45k) and Ron
and I both agree that in its present form and with the economy in the
tank- probably holding off another year wouldn't be that bad. So Ron
and I will be there Monday, I have a Cemetery and fee resolution on
the agenda as well.
➢ Fall user groups are AYSO soccer at Bronken, YMCA flag football is at
the Complex and midget football is at Christie. Each group has been
notified that User fee assessments are changing and we are looking
for partnerships going forward.
➢ The new playground is complete at the Bozeman Ponds and the
climbing boulder will be complete at the Regional Park sometime in
October.
➢ Staff-wise, we are down to 2 seasonals and with the 7- day work week,
we are stretched pretty thin when we account for sick time and
vacation. The division is concentrating on the essential functions:
garbage, dog stations, mowing and restrooms- which we will start
closing a few here in the next few weeks.
➢ On another staff-related item- Dustin Cichosz was selected as the new
Parks service worker. He takes Tianna Workman's position- and -he
went into it knowing he was on the weekend shift.
➢ Like I mentioned earlier, conversations are happening with the
various User Groups that use our land and facilities. The goal is to
come up with a fair way to assess User Fees. We are leaning to a "flat
tax" or a percentage of a group's player or team fees. Each group is
different on how they charge- but we want to know " where does your
money go" - if it is not going into the facility??
