This task is presented to the City of Bozeman in response tnthe May 18, 2011 DEQ
correspondence requesting additional oomocUwa measures be undertaken to address methane
exueedanoee in methane monitoring points BLG'1 and BLG-4. K0ethameexneedanoem in pointBLG-1
will be addressed in an additional nnndifimaUun of the well head in the o|nseed landfill gas extraction
(LGE) well GVV-10 in accordance with a previous task order. Spnoifica||y, the flexible pipe installed on
LGE well GW-1 0 wellhead will be shortened and re-oriented to prevent the accumulation of condensate
/in the flexible piping) from blocking gas extraction, N1eUhmneexceedances in point BLG-4mdD be
addressed by installing an additional methane monitoring point south ofBLG-4. adjacent to the south
property boundary of the landfill (or approximately 17 feet south of BLG-4). Methane/landfill gas
monitoring will then be conducted in the new methane monitoring point. Therefore, the following tasks
are proposed:
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
TASK 1- INSTALL ADDITIONAL METHANE MONITORING POINT
Tetra Tech proposes bo subcontract JBR Environmental (JBR) to install one methane monitoring
point approximately 8.5 feet south of the existing methane monitoring pointBLG-4. J8R was
solicited for bid in consideration of installing the additional point proximal to a power One that exists
along the south boundary of the landfill, JBF7 will use aGecprobeto''directpoah" the hole tnadepth
of 25 feet. The Geoprube was selected because its mast height (18 feet) is less than that ofa
comvent|ono/dri||imgrig(about 25 feet) and tMe/efo,e. can safely beoioeer|o the power lines.
Underground utilities will be deemsd prior to drilling using the 'one-call' underground ub|dv locate
service, his assumeda custom utility locate (at additional cost) will not benecessary,
Drill cuttings will be examined and described by a Tetra Tech soil scientist or geologist. Well
completion will consist of installing 1-h`oh outer-diameter (OD) and 3/4-inch inner-diameter (|D).
Schedule 4D polyvinyl chloride (PVC) piping (slotted and blank) toa depth of25feet. Approximately
20 feet of slotted PVC piping will be used. The borehole will be backfiKed with 18-20 eH(oa sand
around the slotted PVC interval and banbznite to the surface. The bentnnibawiN be hydrated as it is
being placed above the silica sand interval. The PVC well will be protected by steel casing with a
locking nap. The steel casing will be secured with a concrete grout. The one-inch well will be fitted
with on air-tight, barbed valve to allow for gas monitoring.

TASK 2 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING
It is expected that equilibrium conditions can be achieved within fourteen days after completion of the
new methane monitoring point. After this time period, landfill gas monitoring will be conducted. Results
will be included in a brief letter report to City of Bozeman and DEQ citing the well installation activity,
monitoring results, and well log. The report to City of Bozeman and DEQ will also include the date of
completion of the modification of well GW-1 0.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Activities covered in this task order will begin upon approval of this
task order and are anticipated to be completed by September 30, 2011. A brief report will be submitted
to City of Bozeman and DEQ within three working days after monitoring of the new methane monitoring
point has been conducted.
COMPENSATION: Estimated costs to complete the foregoing scope of services are not to exceed
$2,908. Attachment A details these costs. All services in this task order will be conducted on a time
and materials basis.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Execution of this Task Order constitutes acceptance of all terms and
conditions contained in Tetra Tech's Professional Services Agreement with the City of Bozeman, dated
January 3, 1994 and Amendment Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Professional Services Agreement dated
July 31, 1995; January 1, 1996; March 17, 1997; and December 10, 2001, respectively,
