RESOLUTION NO. 2620
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA. AUTHORIZING THE TRADE OF A PORTION OF THE PARK KNOWN
AS LANGOHR PARK FOR A TRACT OF LAND WHICH SHALL BECOME A
PORTION OF LANGOHR PARK AND PLACING THE TRADE ON THE BALLOT FOR
APPROVAL BY THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN.
WHEREAS, the southerly portion of Langohr Park located south of Mason Street and east
of Tracy Avenue is an undeveloped municipal park approximately 4.4 acres in size; and I
WHEREAS, Clair Daines has requested that a tract of land approximately 0.7 acres in
size and located directly south of the undeveloped portion of Langohr Park and continuing
westward to Willson Avenue be accepted by the City in trade for approximately 0.7 acre located
in the southeast corner of the undeveloped portion of Langohr Park; and
WHEREAS, the land trade would not affect the size of Langohr Park and would be to the
benefit of the neighboring property on Willson Avenue and would add the natural amenity of a
grove of Aspen trees to Langohr Park.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONT ANA:
Section 1
Subject to ratification by a majority of the City's electors, the City Commission .hereby
approves the exchange of the following portion of Langohr Park:
A tract of land located in the Northwest 1/4, Southwest 1/4, Section 18,
Township 2 South, Range 6 East, Montana Principal Meridian. Gallatin County,
Montana, said tract being a portion of the 4.410 acre City Park tract of
Thompson Fourth Addition to the City of Bozeman and being more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of original Lot 1. Block 6 of the Thompson
Addition No. 4 plat, said point also being the Southeast corner of the original
4.410 acre City Park tract, thence North 00044'40" West along the right-of-way
line for Tracy Avenue, a distance of 100.00 feet; thence South 89015'20" West, a
distance of 268.55 feet; thence South 30016'00" West, a distance of 116.68 feet; \ I
thence North 89015'20" East, a distance of 328.66 feet to the true point of
beginning.
Said tract contains 0.6855 acres and is subject to all easements of record.
to Clair Daines in return for the deed to the following tract of land which adjoins Langohr Park
and extends in a westward direction to Willson Avenue:
A tract of land located in the Northwest 1/4, Southwest 1/4, Section 18,
Township 2 South, Range 6 East, Montana Principal Meridian, Gallatin County,
Montana, said tract being a portion of Lot 1, Block 6 of Thompson Fourth
Addition to the City of Bozeman and being more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of original Lot 1, Block 6 of the Thompson
Addition No. 4 plat, thence South 89015'20" West on and along the southerly
boundary of a City of Bozeman park, a distance of 328.66 feet to the true point
of beginning; thence South 89015'20" West, a distance of 93.41 feet; thence
North 59044'00" West, a distance of 150.00 feet; thence South 30016'00" West
along the right-of-way line for Willson Avenue, a distance of 228.84 feet; thence
South 59044'00" East, a distance of 100.00 feet; thence North 30016'00" East, a
distance of 151.24 feet; thence North 89011'00" East, a distance of 176.25 feet;
thence North 00044'40" West, a distance of 40.52 feet to the true point of
beginning.
Said tract contains 0.6955 acres and is subject to all easements of record.
Said deed shall be to the City of Bozeman with the additional provision that the land
shall be held in trust for park land use by the public. I
Section 2
The exchange as stated herein shall be placed before the qualified electors of the City of
Bozeman at the general election to be held on Thursday, November 4, 1986, and the wording of
the proposal shall be substantially as follows:

FOR: Approval of the City's exchange of the southeasterly portion of
undeveloped Langohr Park consisting of approximately 0.7 acres
(about 1/5 of the undeveloped portion of Langohr Park located south
of Mason Street) in return for the City and the public receiving
ownership of a particular tract of land, also approximately 0.7 acres,
which extends to Willson Avenue on the west, the Kwik-Way property
on the south and, in an easterly direction, to connect with the
southwest corner of Langohr Park.
AGAI NST: Approval of the City's exchange of the southeasterly portion of
I undeveloped Langohr Park consisting of approximately 0.7 acres
(about 1/5 of the undeveloped portion of Langohr Park located south
of Mason Street) in return for the City and the public receiving
ownership of a particular tract of land, also approximately 0.7 acres,
which extends to Willson Avenue on the west, the Kwik-Way property
on the south and, in an easterly direction, to connect with the
southwest corner of Langohr Park.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a
regular session held thereof on the day of , 1986.
