Sicne you have selected to propose 3196s for the RF pumps:
Section 11301-9, pages 9-11:
2.4.F&G: We have proposed epoxy primer and intermediate coat -- contractor to provide finish coat as
noted in spec.
2.6.2: 3196 is proposed with standard steel coupling guard. Galvanized steel not available. We have
noted cost adder for
aluminum or 316SS. Model 3196 is also available with a SS shaft guard -- provided as optional adder.
2.6.3: Anchor bolts by others.
2.6.4: 3196 does not have lifitng lugs -- lift w/ sling per IOM
2.6.B.6: We have proposed 3196 with drip lip base w/ drain.
Section 11301, page 30-31 motors:
Disregard section 2-4, 6-8 since only section 5 (end suction applies).
Since these will be constant speed (not operated with VFD), motors will be Cast iron with N/W routine test
and suitable for
operation @ 4950’ ASL. No space heaters or thermostats/RTDs.
Section 11301, pages 12-19:
D.9: Shafts too small for spilt seals. Have proposed Chesterton S10 cartridge mechanical seals. Base
bid reflects
carbon/silicon carbide/viton. Chesterton does not recommend SC vs SC -- we will offer SC vs TC as an
option.
D10: Impellers statically balanced. Not practical to dynamic balance. Adder for ISO G2.5 as an option.
D10: Pumps will be hydrostatically tested and performance tested at 8 points from shutoff to runout.

pump - the 3196 i-FRAME TM.
Marking an industry first, the new 3196 i-FRAME provides operations personnel,

repairing rotating equipment - with early warning of trouble so that changes to the process or
machine can be made before failure occurs.
The 3196 i-FRAME’s patent-pending condition monitor is nested securely atop the power end to
measure critical vibration and temperature readings. Variations in temperature or vibration that exceed
preset parameters will activate the early warning system by displaying flashing red lights easily
recognized during routine walk-arounds.

away from the bearings, resulting in longer bearing life
