WGS267 Particle Counter and Sampler
THERES ONLY ONE
WAY TO BE SURE
Built-in printer and a direct readout of particle
counts in six size ranges make the WGS267
ideal for measuring drinking water filter
performance in the pipe gallery or in the lab.
Because the WGS267 is battery-powered,
simply drop the sample tube into your grab
sample, start the pump, and set the flow.
Particle counts are then displayed
automatically in a variety of formats.
A speed adjustable pump system is
used to draw the sample through the sensor
from beakers, tanks or process streams.
Flow enters directly into the sensor from
the source to prevent particle contamination.
A mesh inlet strainer is provided for raw
water sources. A flowmeter measures the
flow through the sensor. The sensor has a
flow cross section of 750 x 750 microns is
field-replaceable.
The counter collects, displays, and prints
count data in up to six (6) size ranges. The
operator may select displayed data to be
cumulative or differential counts per mL or
counts per 100 mL. Programmable functions
include sample duration, time period between
sample runs, number of samples, flow rate,
time, and date. The ounter buffer has a
storage capacity of 250 records.
Every part of this sampler/counter
is rugged. Configuration and data
communication are accomplished with
the RS485 interface, allowing the unit to
function either standalone (logging data
for post analysis) or tied into a computer
running the PortAll grab sampling software.
The software transfers records in memory
to a PC-compatible computer and creates
report formats compatible with most
popular spreadsheets.
The WGS267 is designed for
automatic particle monitoring in industrial
environments. Sample from tanks, open
streams, piping, and jars. Print results
on-the-spot. Produce graphs, tables,
and spreadsheet reports.

The particle counting system shall consist of a portable sampling unit (consisting of sensor, counter
electronics, internal printer, and pump), data collection software, and cleaning accessories, as called out
herein, to produce a complete working system.
SAMPLER. The sampling unit with above mentioned systems shall be designed into a rugged, portable shell
with handle, to allow for easy set up and transport. It shall not exceed 21 pounds in weight and measure no
more than 12 inches high, 10 inches in width, and 14 inches in depth. Housing material shall be made of an
aluminum alloy to ensure ruggedness while minimizing weight. Sampler shall be powered by its internal
battery or plugged into a 115vAC outlet.
A speed adjustable pump system shall be used to draw the sample through the sensor from beakers, tanks
or process streams. This system shall be capable of drawing water a minimum of three feet of head. Flow
shall enter directly into the sensor from the source to prevent particle contamination. A mesh inlet strainer
shall be provided for raw water sources. A flowmeter shall be provided to measure flow through the sensor.
The sampler shall have a user-adjustable flow path enabling the operator to by-pass the pump, using gravity
pressure only and external flow control.
SENSOR. The sensor shall be a solid-state laser diode, light-blocking type with a field-replaceable cell. It
shall be capable of counting particles from 2 to 700 microns in diameter, at a flow rate of 20 to 120 ml/
minute. The maximum particle concentration shall be 16,000 particles per milliliter, at 10% coincidence
when operated with a 100 ml/minute flow rate. The sensor shall have a flow cross section of 750 x 750
microns and the flow cell shall be field-replaceable.
COUNTER. The on-board counter shall collect, display, and print count data in up to six (6) size ranges. The
operator may select displayed data to be cumulative or differential counts per ml or counts per 100 ml.
Counter shall be capable of automatically completing a programmable number of multiple samples and
printing the average of all runs. Counter shall be capable of calculating and printing log removal between
sequential locations. Programmable functions shall include sample duration, time period between sample
runs, number of samples, flow rate, time, and date. Counter buffer shall be capable of storing 250 records.
SOFTWARE. Software shall be capable of transferring records in memory to a PC-compatible computer. The
files created shall be in a format compatible with most popular, commercially-available spreadsheets. The
software shall be run in Windows 98 and Windows NT. Software upgrades shall be supplied at no additional
cost for up to one (1) year.
