COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2872
A RESOLUTION Of THE CITY COMMISSION Of THE CITY Of BOZEMAN,
MONT ANA, DECLARING IT TO BE THE COMMISSION'S INTENTION TO
CLOSE NORTH 20TH A VENUE AT A POINT BETWEEN THE NORTH
RIGHT-Of-WAY LINE Of WEST MAIN STREET AND THE SOUTH RIGHT-
Of-WAY LINE Of DURSTON ROAD BY PLACING A BARRICADE ACROSS
. SAID STREET.
WHEREAS, the City has received a written petition from more than 50 percent of
the owners of lots on the portion of the street that would be closed as a result of placing a
barricade at a point between the north right-of-way line of West Main Street and the south
right-of-way line of Durston Road; and
WHEREAS, the barricade will be placed horizontally across North 20th Avenue at
a point to be determined by the Director of Public Service, following public comment, and
in conformance with the manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 7-14-4114, Montana Code Annotated, the City
Commission may act upon said petition, atter appropriate notice has been published; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined it appropriate and in the best
. interests of the City to proceed with the process for closure of North 20th Avenue at a point
between the north right-of-way line of West Main Street and the south right-of-way line of
Durston Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Bozeman, Montana, that:
Section 1
Declaration of Intention
The City Commission states its intention to close North 20th Avenue by placing a
barricade horizontally at a point between the north right-of-way line of West Main Street and
the south right-of-way line of Durston Road.
. Section 2
Public Hearino
A public hearing on this petition requesting closure of said street is hereby set to
be held at the Commission Room in the Municipal Building, 411 East Main Street, Bozeman,
Montana, on Wednesday, September 9, 1992, at 7:00 p.m., at which time public testimony
will be received in support of and in opposition to said petition.

Section 3
Notice
The Clerk of the Commission of the City of Bozeman is hereby directed to publish
a notice in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle a Notice stating the time and place of the public
. hearing, and stating that the City Commission will act upon petition for closure of North 20th
Avenue.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana,
at a regular session thereof held on the 17th day of August 1992.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Commission did, on the 17th day of
August 1992, adopt Commission Resolution No. 2872, entitled:

MONTANA, DECLARING IT TO BE THE COMMISSION'S INTENTION TO
CLOSE NORTH 20TH AVENUE AT A POINT BETWEEN THE NORTH
RIGHT-Of-WAY LINE Of WEST MAIN STREET AND THE SOUTH RIGHT-
Of-WAY LINE OF DURSTON ROAD BY PLACING A BARRICADE ACROSS
SAID STREET.
NOTICE IS fURTHER GIVEN that, at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 1992,
the City Commission will conduct a public hearing on this intention to close North 20th
Avenue at which time testimony in support of and in opposition to said closure will be
accepted at which time the Commission will act upon the petition to close this street.
