BACKGROUND: This change order is being proposed to direct the contractor to remove approximately 616 linear feet of deteriorated vertical curbing on the west side of S. Bozeman Avenue in conjunction with the water line replacement trenching operations, and install new integral curb and gutter. This will allow for a better trench patch as well as facilitate a future milling and re- paving of S. Bozeman Ave. Driveway aprons and some service walks would also be removed and replaced in conjunction with the curb replacement. The quote provided by the contractor for this work is reasonable and approximately 25% less than we anticipated it could cost. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None known. ALTERNATIVES: Do not replace the curbing at this time. FISCAL EFFECTS: The cost of this work is estimated to be $20,643.00, with final cost being determined by actual installed quantities. The proposed funding source for this work is the Fuel Tax fund; adequate funds are available in this fund to complete this work.
