Director’s Report
August 23, 2011
STREAMLINE: July’s ridership for Streamline included 11,120 weekday rides and 1,459 Saturday rides. Latenight had 702 night owls. The Livingston route produced 532 rides.
We have received word that Streamline has been awarded a 23-passenger bus at a total cost of $173,160. Galavan was awarded a 12-passenger ADA bus for which the total cost is $55,412.
Although August 21 is our actual 5th birthday, we will be celebrating on Monday, August 29, with a news conference at 10:00 am at the SUB. There will also be cake and prizes at the
Downtown Transfer Center at 1:00 pm. I would like to thank Kristin, Suzanne, Colleen, David and Sunshine for all the hard work that went into the planning of our birthday week celebration.
The new schedules are being distributed as I write this. Our new large maps should be available early next week. We will get those posted as soon as they are available.
In anticipation of our new routes, we are working with Karst to make sure that we have enough vehicles to maintain our service. We are looking at a couple of options and should have
more definite information at the meeting on Tuesday.
GALAVAN: Galavan added 14 new clients in July and gave a total of 2,019 rides in 20 days of service.
We received confirmation that Gallatin County has set aside $49,000 for Galavan once again for this fiscal year.
We have taken delivery of our new Sprinter. It is a great little bus that Jimmy has taken on as his own. The only problem with them is that there is no local dealer to work on warranty
issues.
We have moved ahead with the sale of our bus #9 to Rocky Boy Transit. The selling price was $11,499, of which $9,199 will go to Galavan.
