SUBJECT: Appointment to the Zoning Commission
MEETING DATE: August 15, 2011
MEETING TYPE: Action
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one new member to the Zoning Commission.
BACKGROUND: One vacancy currently exists on the Zoning Commission with one
new application received. The applicant is a city resident per membership requirements. The
term for this vacancy expires January 31, 2012.
The Zoning Commission was re-created under Ordinance No. 1500, to establish procedures for
the administration of the municipal zoning ordinance within the City limits. Resolution No.
3312 then established the membership of the Zoning Commission saying,
The Zoning Commission shall consist of five members appointed by the City Commission.
Members of the board shall serve two-year staggered terms. Persons of legal age may be
appointed to the board. All members must be residents of the City of Bozeman.
This Commission has one vacancy and one applicant.

PLEASE NOTE: Per Ordinance No. 1759, revising Chapter 2.01 of the Bozeman Municipal
Code, all board members are required to attend a yearly ethics workshop provided free of charge
by the City as a condition of service as a member of a board.
