SUBJECT: (Re)Appointments to the Bozeman Tourism Business
Improvement District (BTBID) Board of Trustees

RECOMMENDATION: Re-appoint or appoint up to two members to the BTBID.
BACKGROUND: The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of
Trustees has two terms which expired on July 31st, 2011. One member has re-applied for another
term and three new applicants have applied.
In August, 2009 the City Commission created the BTBID Board to manage the newly created
District (Cht. 2.90, BMC). The mission of the Board is to promote tourism that generates room
nights for lodging facilities in the city of Bozeman, Montana by effectively marketing the region
as a preferred travel destination.
BTBID members are appointed to staggered four years. Board appointees must either be a
property owner within the District or the duly authorized designee of an owner of property
within the District.
The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Trustees currently has two
expired terms and four applicants.
