SUBJECT: Reappointments to the Tree Advisory Board
MEETING DATE: June 20, 2011

RECOMMENDATION: Reappoint two members to the Tree Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: The Tree Advisory Board has three terms expiring June 30, 2011. Two of
the three members with expiring terms have re-applied for another term.
The Tree Advisory Board is created under Ordinance No. 1364, adopted by the City Commission
on April 26, 1993, as codified in Chapter 2.92 of the Bozeman Municipal Code. The Board is
comprised of five members appointed by the City Commission, serving staggered two-year terms.
Whenever possible, two of the members shall be from the following disciplines: real estate,
commercial lending, civil or environmental engineering, or landscape architecture or
construction.
Members shall be residents of the City, own property within the City, or be gainfully employed
within the City.
The Board is advisory to the Commission, providing guidance and advice regarding the City's tree program and developing a proposed arboricultural specification manual and any needed revisions.
The Tree Advisory Board currently has one vacancy and one new applicant.

Code, all board members are required to attend a yearly ethics workshop provided free of charge
