COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3447
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA. STATING THE CITY'S INTENT TO REVISE THE 1990 BOZEMAN
AREA MASTER PLAN UPDA TE BY AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT
FROM "URBAN RESIDENTIAL" TO "BUSINESS PARK/lNDUSTRIAL" ON 8.821:1:
ACRES LOCATED IN MINOR SUBDIVISION NO 221 A. SITUATED IN THE
SOUTHWEST ONE-QUARTER OF SECTION 26, TOWNSHIP 1 SOUTH. RANGE
5 EAST. MONTANA PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN.
WHEREAS, Planning staff has processed an application for a Master Plan Amendment
to revise the land use plan element on an 8.821 :I:-acre parcel lying south of
East Valley Center
Road and northwest of the existing Costco facility, in the 1990 Bozeman Area Master
Plan
Update; and
WHEREAS, the applic ation for a Master Plan Amendment would amend the land use
element from "Urban Residential" to "Business Park/Industrial" on the 8.821 :I:
acres of said
property; and
WHEREAS, the Planning staff assessed the application in light of the criteria set
forth
for review of Master Plan Amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman Planning Board conducted a public hearing on an
application for said amendment at its regular meeting held on June 5, 2001, taking
into careful
consideration the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan Amendment applications;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman Planning Board found that the application complies
with
the approval criteria established in Chapter 5 of the 1990 Bozeman Area Master
Plan Update,
and that the proposed amendment does constitute an overall improvement to the Plan;
and
WHEREAS, subsequent to its public hearing, the City of Bozeman Planning Board voted,
on a vote of 7 to 1, to forward a recommendation for approval of the requested
land use
designations; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is scheduled to conduct its public hearing on said
amendment at its regular meeting held on June 18,2001, to consider the applicant's
request to
amend the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, that it intends to revise the Master Plan to amend the land use element
from" Urban
Residential" to "Business Park/Industrial" on an 8.821:t -acre parcel lying south
of East Valley
Center Road and northwest of the existing Costco facility, in the 1990 Bozeman
Area Master
Plan Update.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at
a regular session thereof held on the 18th day of June 2001.
