HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3449 Intent to amend Area Master Plan, Baxter Meadows - --.-.-.---..-----. - COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3449 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, STATING THE CITY'S INTENT TO REVISE THE 1990 BOZEMAN AREA MASTER PLAN UPDA TE BY CHANGING THE lAND USE DESIGNATIONS FROM "PUBLIC OPEN SPACE", "RURAL RESIDENTIAL", "URBAN RESIDENTIAL" AND "SUBURBAN RESIDENTIAL" TO "PUBLIC OPEN SPACE" , "URBAN RESIDENTIAL" , "SUBURBAN RESIDENTIAL" AND "BUSINESS PARK" ON 460.2971 ACRES DESCRIBED AS A PORTION OF THE SOUTHWEST ONE-QUARTER AND All OF THE SOUTHEAST ONE-QUARTER OF SECTION 34, TOWNSHIP 1 SOUTH, RANGE 5 EAST, AND THE NORTHEAST ONE-QUARTER OF SECTION 3, TOWNSHIP 2 SOUTH, RANGE 5 EAST, MONTANA PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN. WHEREAS, Planning staff has processed an application for a Master Plan Amendment to revise the land use plan element on a 460.2971 acres generally located between West Oak Street extended, Deadman's Gulch extended, North 27th Avenue extended and Harper Puckett Road extended; and WHEREAS, the application for a Master Plan Amendment would revise the land use plan element by changing the land use designations from "Public Open Space", "Rural Residential", "Urban Residential" and "Suburban Residential" to "Public Open Space", "Urban Residential", "Suburban Residential" and "Business Park" on the 460.2971 acres of said property; and WHEREAS, the Planning staff assessed the application in light of the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan Amendments; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman Planning Board conducted a public hearing on an application for said amendment at its regular meeting held on June 5, 2001, taking into careful consideration the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan Amendment applications; and WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman Planning Board found that the application complies with the approval criteria established in Chapter 5 of the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update, and that the proposed amendment does constitute an overall improvement to the Plan; and WHEREAS, subsequent to its public hearing, the City of Bozeman Planning Board voted, on a vote of 8 to 0, to forward a recommendation for approval of the requested land use designations; and WHEREAS, the City Commission is scheduled to conduct its public hearing on said amendment at its regular meeting held on June 25, 2001, to consider the applicant's request to amend the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update. _n_ _.___ - .. ---...--...--- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, that it intends to revise the Master Plan to amend the land use element from "Public Open Space", "Rural Residential", "Urban Residential" and "Suburban Residential" to "Public Open Space", "Urban Residential", "Suburban Residential" and "Business Park" on the 460.2971 acres lying between West Oak Street extended, Deadman's Gulch extended, North 27th Avenue extended and Harper Puckett Road extended, in the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a regular session thereof held on the 25th day of June 2001 . ~!J~ MARCIA B.
