Item # 1 — Call meeting to order:
0 Chairperson Keck called the meeting to order at 12:00p.m.
Item #2 — Review meeting agenda:
0 No changes requested
Item #3 — Approve March 16, 2011 meeting minutes — Action Item:
• Nm public comment was presented
• No changes were requested

Item #5 — New Business:
A\ Cost Share Progr,am 20.1
• over half the tree have been sold snfar
• The Cost Share Program had no changes this year, the Voucher Program did go up to $100 per inch
diameter
• Some people are choosing to use the Cost Share Program instead of the Voucher Program, it
depends on which works best for them
• All trees are balled and budaped
B) Approve City Tree Master Plan —Action Item:
• No public comment was presented
• The warding for Strategy #5regandingstnrmdnainsisgondperSupehntendentVanDe|imder
• There ioa request to change the wording on Item #5 and to correct the spelling in Strategy #15
• Goal #l1 should include local regulations
• The request for name change will be submitted at the time approval of the master plan is requested
• This will be submitted to the City Commission as a consent item, if the board decides they want to
speak to the Commission let Commissioner Mehl know and he will move it to the agenda
Motion: Buondrnernber Engler motioned to approve the City Tree Master Plan with the requested changes.
Arbor Day Plans — Friday April 29, 2011:
Boardmember Walters seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
Item #6 — Old Business:
4J • Nn events are planned, the events planned the last three years were all snowed out
• Foreman Stover has been working with Chief Joseph Middle School to plant four trees through the
Arbor Day Grant and the School purchased two additional Cost Share trees, The trees will be
planted onKlmbenwlcke Street by the school sign
• The planting date will be determined ata later date, Foreman Stover will notify the board mothey
can be[nattendance
• Hiesel Nursery contact Foreman Stover regarding chokecherry trees that they need to move, if
anyone has suggestions please let Foreman Stover know. The trees would cost about $55 and Hiexe|
would do the planting. The regional park was suggested, Superintendent Van DeUnder will check
with Fire Chief ShreuQer10 see if they would agree Lo water them
• The Bozeman Chronicle will be notified of the planting at Chief Joseph Middle School

o Was well attended
• Stressed keeping on eye on healthy trees, you may be able to find bugs faster
• Chairperson Keck suggested putting the CD on the vvebsite
• Workshops will be provided ao they become available

• Boardmember Engler heard that the city is requiring blue grass sod adjacent to parklands
• This will be looked at to verify the information, if it were required it may be for maintenance
reasons

• lt was requested that the National US Forest Service Northeastern pamphlet have a link to it on the
Fonesin/Vvebs|te.
• There was some discussion regarding a phone message that was left for the Tree Board regarding tree
roots that were cut when pedestrian ramps were installed in a certain location. The caller was not
happy with the city's response to her request and she wanted to notify the board of this.

^ The Tree Walk will be added to the next meeting agenda, board members are asked to bring ideas and
locations

The next meeting date is set for May 18, 2011 from noon to Ipm to be held in the Madison Room
upstairs at City Hall, 121 N. Rouse Ave.
