Box 1230 · Bozeman, MT · 59771 Bozeman City Commission May 12, 2011 Honorable mayor and distinguished commissioners, It has come to the attention of the Bozeman Recreation and Parks Advisory Board that the commission will soon be conducting a review of the Workforce Housing Ordinance. Our board opposed this ordinance originally because we felt that in spite of the potential for good for our community, the cost in lost future parkland was too great. Now that the real estate market has retreated significantly, the potential for good has been lost and all that is left is the potential for the negative side effects of this ordinance to take place; that is, a 10-11% reduction in a developer’s parkland dedication requirement in return for housing that will never be built. We urge the commission to repeal the Workforce Housing Ordinance. Sincerely, Bozeman Recreation and Parks Advisory Board
