A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN, MONTANA, AMENDING THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR
RENTAL OF THE STORY MANSION.
WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Director had submitted a recommendation
for establishment of Story Mansion rental fees; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission found that it is in the best interest of the City
to establish reasonable fees for use of the Story Mansion to offset a portion of the cost of
maintenance; and
WHEREAS , Resolution No. 4156, Establishing; a Fee Schedule for the Rental of
the Story Mansion was approved by the City Commission at their Regular City
Commission on March 23, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission at their Regular City Commission Meeting on
Monday, June 8, 2009 made a motion to amend Resolution No. 4156, and made
Amendments to the Fee Schedule for the Rental of the Story Mansion; and
WHEREAS, the full rates that became effective on January 1, 2011 have had a
detrimental effect on the rental of the Story Mansion and City Staff has analyzed the rate
structure and recommended a revised rate structure in agreement with the Friends of The
Story;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City
of Bozeman, Montana:

That the following fee schedule be adopted for the rental of the Story Mansion as
follows:

Rental Times
• Full Day — 9am to 11 pin (all outdoor activities must cease by 9 p.m.)
0 Half Days — 9am to 4pin and 5pni to I I pin (all outdoor activities must cease by 9
P.M.)
• Holidays rates applied on the following holidays: New Years Eve, New Years
Day, Easter, Memorial Day, MSU Graduation, July 4, Labor Day, Halloween,
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
Rental Information
• Cleaning and Damage Deposit is $400 for the first floor, and $ 100 for the Library
only, and is due at the time of reservation. Damages and cleaning will be
deducted from deposit. Reservation cancelations must be received a minimum of
60 days prior to event for full refund.
• Non-City Resident fees — additional 20%
• City of Bozeman and Uses Beneficial to Story Mansion and grounds- No charge
0 Government and Non-Profit Organizations — 50% discount
• The Library is only available for rent during daytime hours (gam -1 I pin) during
the week, if the rest of the building is not rented. The library can only be rented
no more than 48 hours in. advance.
• No set up or staff provided. Clean up is the responsibility of renter and must be
completed at the conclusion of event.
• A Security Guard is required for events with 75 or more people and where alcohol
is served.

Only outdoor activities at the Mansion that may be considered for lasting beyond
9 p.m. are community events approved by the City Commission through a Special
Temporary Use Permit.
Section 2
The fee schedule shall be effective ii upon passage of this resolution.
