Ice rinks are pretty much done, with it being March and the sun
hitting the ice at a much more direct angle. All in all, the season was
good-
The Parks’ division crew is starting to gear up for the spring already,
with routes being plowed into storage locations so we can start the
maintenance on the summer-related equipment.
After our brief budget lesson- I will present the Park budget
recommendations on March 21st
to upper management and a few
commissioners. - I will be asking for nominal increases in areas such
as chemicals/fertilizer, contracted services (getting our security back)
and for maintenance of the Mansion.
Doug (Park foreman) and I are continuing to visit with User Groups
and laying out the spring and summer seasons. We are continuing to
see an increase in the numbers of groups that want to use City-owned
facilities. Priority is given to those groups that have a history of use,
help with the facility – either maintenance, development or both,
etc…..
Crews are increasingly busy with dog stations, garbage and finishing
up construction of garbage racks, picnic table repair, and park
signage (and fire and police signs as well)
Some of the things Ron and I are working on are; advertising in parks
(i.e. Rose Park)- concerts in parks (not all at Lindley)-
