Rouse Bozeman, MT 59771 RE: Resurrection Parish Catholic Church with Variance Request (Application Z- 10356) Mayor and Commissioners: On behalf of our client, Resurrection University Parish Catholic Church, we are respectfully requesting that the City Commission reclaim this project for review. The project includes an addition to the existing church located at 1725 S. 11 ch Avenue, which is along the south edge of the MSU campus. The existing Church with proposed addition is a Conditional Use within its R4 zone. We are submitting two variance requests, the first to Section 18.38.050 G.1 of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) and the second to 18.38.060 D.1. Section 18.38.0506.1 addresses detached accessory structures in front, side or corner-side yards and Section 18.38.060 DA addresses Height Limitation Exceptions. Due to the unique design goals and challenges of church projects, the location and context of this particular church and the lack of clear code definition and requirements pertaining to bell towers, we feel it is most appropriate to take this course of action. If you have any question regarding this request please feel free to contact me at 5560113 or bmechels@dowlingsandholm.com.
