Yes __________ No __________ Exceptions _____________________________________ Section 14 Hydraulic Controls (Force America Patrol Commander Console™) HYDRAULIC PUMP/HOT SHIFT PTO: The hydraulic pump shall be an axial piston pressure and flow prior compensated load-sensing type. The pump shall have a displacement of five point six one (5.61) cubic inches per revolution at maximum stroke which will deliver twenty three point seven (23.7) gallons per minute at one thousand (1000) engine revolutions per minute. The pump shall have a minimum two inch (2”) suction line and one quarter inch (½”) control drain line plumbed directly back to the reservoir. The pump shall be rated for five thousand eight hundred (5800) PSI maximum 11 of 20 and four thousand eight hundred (4800) PSI continuous. The pump shall have a Din type-mounting flange. The pump shall be Force America TXV92 or approved equal. A hot shift PTO that is mounted to the Allison™ 4500 RDS series transmission shall drive the pump. The PTO shall run at a one hundred three percent (103%) of engine speed. Yes __________ No __________ Exceptions _____________________________________ SHUT DOWN SYSTEM: There shall be a sensor for low oil/high temp mounted in the top of the reservoir. It will be a normally open circuit rated for three (3) amps. When the oil reaches a critical level this circuit will close sending a signal to the hot shift power take off, disengaging the pump and shutting off the flow of oil to the system. At the same time, a signal will be sent to an indicator mounted in the cab alerting the operator of system shut down. A low oil manual override switch will allow the operator to momentarily override the system shutdown to raise the plow or lower the dump body, in order to return to a maintenance facility. The hydraulic filter shall be a twenty five (25)-micron absolute and rated for six thousand (6000) PSI. The filter shall be model HP17125VG30EPUG5S2AE7050P or prior approved equal and be equipped with a visual and electrical bypass indicator. The electrical indicator shall be wired to a warning light in the heads up display. The control center shall be a padded armrest style that is ergonomically designed. Control center shall be modular in design for ease of installation and service, and wiring and connectors shall be keyed and color coded throughout. A sealed, pre-wired harness for all valve controls must be provided. All components must be durable for long life and trouble free operation. Multi-stick PWM driver electronics shall include as standard the capability to control at least nine (9) proportional outputs simultaneously. Controls for spreader must be located on armrest at the operator's fingertips. The switches shall be located between the joysticks and spreader control interface and each shall be rated for fifteen (15) amps continuous current minimum. Console shall be capable of supplying full rated power to switch outputs when all four (4) auxiliary switches are at full fifteen (15) amp load. The green “Hoist” LEDs shall remain illuminated while the hoist is under operation and shall time-out after a period of hoist inactivity that is selectable from zero (0) to fifteen (15) seconds. For flexibility of use the integral float programming shall have the following standard features: four (4) axis functional float on any or all of the outputs with selectable forward/back, right/left functionality, three (3)-way or four (4) way functionality, selectable three (3) second float delay timer and optional float enable switch inputs. When float output for a given joystick function is active, the LED-backlit nomenclature shall blink ON/OFF to provide visual feedback to the operator that the float function is engaged. Circuit shall also time out after four (4) seconds. Joystick MIN/MAX output duty cycle thresholds, deadbands and error thresholds for each joystick output shall be customizable in the field through a built-in easy to use software interface. Joystick calibration data shall be retained on-board and shall be easily transferrable between joystick system components. Yes __________ No __________ Exceptions _____________________________________ To ensure safe operation, joystick communication hardware/software shall include the following standard features: • Input power monitor circuitry with power quality diagnostics, • Redundant dual-reference joystick signals for each joystick axis • Joystick output open/short circuit detection and operator notification • Joystick input off-center checking on all axes and output shutdown on system power- up • Joystick out-of-range fault condition checking and output shutdown • True outputs off with joystick centered • LED-backlit nomenclature shall illuminate and flash RED when any error condition exists and an audible alarm shall sound. • LED-backlit nomenclature shall blink ON/OFF with increasing frequency as the corresponding function is increased in speed to give the operator visual feedback of each joystick output. • The joystick control system shall be equipped with a qualified ESTOP device that immediately disconnects battery power from all joystick outputs. All joystick- operated outputs shall immediately cease to function, an audible alarm shall sound, and the joystick system display shall inform the operator that the ESTOP device has been activated. The ESTOP device must remove power from the joystick outputs while maintaining power to the display and CPU for diagnostic purposes. The operator must manually reset the ESTOP device in order to return the joysticks to operational status. Yes __________ No __________ Exceptions _____________________________________ 14 of 20 The spreader control shall regulate the auger and spinner speeds as well as pre-wetting liquid. There shall be three (3) individual detented knobs providing proportional control from closed to fully open on the control valve of the auger, spinner and liquid. Front face panel shall have “standby” indicator light activated by pushing the auger dial, blast mode adjustable for momentary or timed up to sixteen (16) seconds with cancellation and flashing indicator light. Other features shall include remote standby and blast inputs, switch selectable speedometer interrupt (sander shutdown when vehicle stops), adjustable back lighting via vehicle controls. The unit must be protected from reverse polarity, as well as be over-voltage protected by using a five-amp reset circuit breaker. All circuit boards to be conformal coated. The liquid control will have a separate power switch with indicator light. In addition the liquid unit will have an optional liquid blast as well as a low pressure, high pressure and low liquid warning indicators. The liquid control will operate hydraulic, electric, or gravity pre-wet systems. The Control Center shall be a Force America Patrol Commander MPJC Ultra series with a one thousand five hundred (1500) model spreader control. Each hydraulic function requires an individual manifold stacked together to form the manifold base. The manifold base shall consist of an inlet section with SAE number sixteen (#16) inlet porting, SAE number twenty (#20) outlet porting, and SAE number four (#4) load sense porting. There shall be a main system relief in the inlet section to protect the system from high pressure in case the pump compensators fail. The dump body manifold shall be stacked next to the inlet section, and capable of forty (40) GPM with SAE number twelve (#12) porting. The hydraulic control valves shall be pulse-width modulated, proportionally controlled. Each hydraulic valve segment shall be individually mounted to the manifold base assembly and be serviceable without removing any hydraulic hoses or any other hydraulic valve segments.
