Whereas, the Bozeman High Football team just finished a perfect season,
13-0, with a victory in the Montana State Class AA High School Football
Championship Game; and
Whereas, while other Bozeman school district sports and academic programs
have shown excellence in the past, this is the first such accomplishment in the
history of Bozeman High School football; and
Whereas, it was noted by the media, school officials, and players there were
an unprecedented number of players who for years dedicated themselves to the
team regardless of the chance of playing time or personal recognition; and
Whereas, the team showed the dedication and intensity required to maintain
continuing excellence over a long period of time and reach their shared goal, not
for just one perfect season, but for their entire high school career; and
Whereas, such are the lessons from competition: perseverance, teamwork
and self-discipline that can carry over into success over a lifetime of other
pursuits; and
Whereas, the entire season was an exhilarating and rewarding example of
excellence for the entire community, with decades of Bozeman high graduates and
former coaches, attending and celebrating the games; and
Whereas, the Bozeman High school district encompasses the entire City of
Bozeman; and
Whereas, it is important for our community to recognize this exceptional
effort.
NOW THEREFORE, 1, Jeffrey K. Krauss, Mayor of the City of
Bozeman, do hereby call upon all my fellow citizens to take time to recognize
the Bozeman Hawk Football Team for outstanding accomplishment.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the
official seal of the City of Bozeman in the County of Gallatin to be affixed this
